About the
Ngorongoro Naretu Elders Foundation
Taking care of forgotten elderly Maasai men and women with special needs and living in difficult circumstances – A forgotten part of society.
The elderly Maasai living in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area have critical problems with access to water, medical help and living aids during the declining years of their life, relying on others to help them with everything from toileting to accessing food, water and medical supplies.

Pastor Daniel Kipeen
Maasai man Daniel Kipeen, is a young leader in one such community who was educated at an English school and has grown up with a heart for the elderly Maasai with their struggles as they age and become frail.
Witnessing the above problems, during the Covid19 crisis and himself having become a Christian believer during that time, Daniel showed his love and respect for the elderly by resolving to do something about their predicament. He studied the scriptures meticulously and took on board the challenges to love others as oneself.
The Foundation
In 2021 with the help of his father and a team, he set up Ngorongoro Naretu Elders Community Based Organisation (CBO) with the aim of assisting elderly Masaai across three villages in the conservation area with their physical and practical needs. This involves feeding, toileting, mobility, and medical needs and is a huge task with very little equipment and resources.
Daniel’s father has since passed on and Daniel and a small team of helpers have dedicated their lives to this volunteer work.
